Singer-songwriters Grant King and Katie Castagno will give a free, acoustic performance on Saturday, June 20th, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Provincetown Public Library.
This will be Part 3 of the songwriters-in-concert series “Songs I Wish I’d Written!,” curated by King. He initiated the series to honor fellow songwriters’ work.
In the series, King sings originals as well as cover songs that have inspired him, accompanied by his guitar, and shares the bill with an invited local songwriter. “The pleasure I get from featuring local artists I admire makes this project all the sweeter for me,” King says.
For this concert, he invited singer-songwriter Katie Castagno to perform her original material.
Castagno, “a geologist by day and singer-songwriter by night,” received a 2024 artist grant from the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. Her work on her groundbreaking labor of love, “Our Queer Elders,” was featured on Lower Cape TV’s ArtsLight. Its 13 songs were recorded with a who’s who of notable local musicians, including Mike Flanagan, Susan Goldberg, Patty Larkin, Pamela Means, and Char Priolo.
Castagno and King have each been praised for the humor, poignancy, and social justice in their work. Each has released acclaimed recordings on their independent labels, and have performed to enthusiastic audiences at local venues and in the Northeast.
This concert will be held in the Provincetown Public Library’s Reading Room at 356 Commercial Street, Provincetown, MA. For more information: 508-487-7094, or visit: provincetownlibrary.org/calendar. Admission is free.
