A Discussion with OLAUG - Old Ladies Against Underwater Garbage

  • Provincetown Public Library 356 Commercial Street Provincetown, MA, 02657 United States (map)

What do a blue toilet, the yellow top of a 1990 Corvette, car batteries, water-logged quilts, single shoes and boots, and hundreds of beer cans have in common?

They no longer litter the bottom of freshwater ponds on Cape Cod thanks to OLAUG!

The Old Ladies Against Underwater Garbage (OLAUG) have been diving into, and pulling garbage out of, Cape Cod's fresh water ponds for six years. Featured in the Boston Globe and on NBC, CBS, NPR, the Drew Barrymore Show, and at least two documentaries as their notoriety has grown. OLAUG has inspired countless Cape Codders to care about the health and cleanliness of the ponds they love.

Join us to hear their stories.
